I qualified from Swindon Art College in 1999, with an Adv. GNVQ in Art & Design. After a lengthy career in Visual Merchandising and Display for various retailers, I am now channeling my creativity through painting. I am also studying and one day hope to move into the field of Art Psychotherapy. I have a strong belief in the use of Art as an emotional therapy, and I am excited about the progressive movement of ‘Arts in Health’.
Abstract art is my love (though I also do figurative work). I use Acrylics on canvas and bold colour and strong shapes combine in my work, to make statement pieces that are a focal point of any room….I don’t do subtle!
Perpetual Motion- Gold on Red
–noun Mechanics. the action of movement that, once set in motion, will continue in motion forever, with no additional energy required to maintain it.
Inspired by the everlasting energy, movement and motion of circles. ‘Perpetual Motion’ is my most popular series of work.
Purple Zebra
The beauty and power of exotic nature is a true influence in my work. From the symbolic meaning of the Peacock Feather, to the bold contradictions of the Zebra’s stripes and the leopard’s spots. I incorporate and contort these images into modern pieces that don’t necessarily reflect their original and true colours, but are interpreted to compliment my style.
Lady in Blue
Celebrating the divine womanly shape! When I do indulge in ‘life’ or ‘figurative’ work, commissions have been based on the shapes and contours of the female form – usually combined with a ‘Pop Art’ twist.
