Nicola is a full-time, self employed Artist working from studios based in Wiltshire and West London. Nicola predominantly works with pencils, oils and acrylics, although open to a variety of media, and also specialises in Mural commissions and Body art – becoming a hobby-turned-professional Henna and Mehndi artist in her ‘spare’ time. Exploring themes relating to consciousness, spirituality, human behaviour and sexuality, the artworks are colourful, subtle and rhythmic – taking inspiration from nature, ancient symbology and myth, and investigating the interpretation of space and perspective in relation to ourselves.
Having studied locally at Swindon College and learning valuable lessons in drawing techniques, Nicola is comfortable and capable with sketching and drawing, which provide a solid framework and basis for her paintings. Recently, since developing a career as a Mehndi artist, Nicola’s artistic interests have taken on more cultural significance and awareness, developing an understanding of the values of tradition and philosophies, that have in turn inspired a change of perspective to everyday life.
