Sharron Rich

Creative art is something I have enjoyed since as far back as I can remember, but it is only  four years ago I began stone carving.

Working in three-dimension is a real challenge, and the act of stone carving is as therapeutic as it is creative. Much of my work is inspired by things around me – nature, animals and real life.

All of my work is hand carved using a mallet and chisels, smoothed with files and finally sanded and polished. This process takes many hours of work but the piece created is unique.

I started exhibiting my work locally three years ago. This resulted in some sales and my first large commissioned sculpture to a local care home.

This year I have taken part in Carterton Open Arts Exhibition, Faringdon Art Festival, Oxfordshire Artweeks and Swindon Open Studios.

I hope you enjoy my work.
